CAMPS! CAMPS! CAMPS!

This December Vulindlela Bush Camp organized two camps for children of different ages - SonTreasure Island Junior Festival (ages 9 - 13) and Pirates of the Nazarene Teen Festival (ages 13 - 16), and also played host to the ever-popular Youth Festival. At Dundee Junior Festival this year, the hunt for treasure began at Vulindlela Bush Camp on the 2nd of December and run until the 8th of December! This year, our theme was “SonTreasure Island”, a week of treasure-hunting adventure in the Islands. All 95 juniors were pirates, searching for treasures from God’s Word! Through the week the children learned that: God’s Love is Giving; God’s Love is Kind; God’s Love is Caring; God’s Love is Forgiving; God’s Love is Forever. We had a great time with lively songs, hilarious skits, creative crafts, exciting games, Bible stories and tasty snacks—all of the things that make Junior Festival so much fun! On top of that, we even milked a cow or two, went fufi-sliding, went tree-abseiling, did obstacle courses, had mudfights, campfires and sing-songs and even took a tractor ride up the Mpati Mountain! Click here to see some pics of what we got up to.
Our next Junior camp is in July 2008 and details of this camp will be posted on this website shortly.

The Pirates of the Nazarene Teen Festival ran for a week, from the 9th to the 15th December and had a bunch of teens from around the country in attendance. It was truly a festival of fun, with the teens enjoying activities like slip-sliding, stalk-the-lantern, and ended most days with hot-chocolate around the campfire. We participated in the Youth Festival's Bruce Flea-athon, taking the Youth by surprise and usurping second place from under their noses. There was also time for volley-ball, soccer, tractor rides, swims, a day spent hiking up the mountain where we enjoyed a picnic lunch, and loads of other activities. The highlights of the week were the spiritually uplifting services with world-renown guest speaker, Australian-born Grenville Kent, where we learnt about climbing in faith and about discipleship. All of the teens agreed that it was a camp not to be missed. Click here for some pics.
The next Teen camp will be in July 2008 and details of this camp will be posted on this website shortly.
